PixVow makes it easy for guests to share their photos and videos, creating a collaborative memory of the event. This guide will walk you through the various methods of uploading media and how to manage your uploads.

Methods for Uploading Media

There are several ways to upload your photos and videos to an event:
  1. Scanning a QR Code on the Event Page: The event host may provide a QR code on the event page that you can scan to access the media upload area.
  2. Using the ‘Share Photos and Videos’ Button: On the event page, look for a button or link labeled ‘Share photos and videos’.
  3. Scanning a PixQR Challenge QR Code: The host may have enabled Challenges, allowing them to provide QR codes for specific photo ideas like Best Dancer
For the best uploading experience, we recommend downloading the PixVow mobile app, available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The app provides a streamlined interface for capturing and uploading media directly to the event. You can scan Event & PixQR QR codes using the mobile app.
When accessing the PixQR page to upload media, you may be prompted to enter the event PIN code if it’s enabled by the host. This typically happens if you’re not logged in with a PixVow account associated with the event.

Uploading Process

  1. Choose your preferred method to access the upload page (QR code or button).
  2. If prompted, enter the event PIN code.
  3. Select the photos or videos you want to upload from your device.
  4. Click the upload button to share your media with the event.

Managing Your Uploads

How you manage your uploaded media depends on whether you’re logged into a PixVow account:

Logged-in Users

If you’re logged in with a PixVow account associated with the event:
  • You have full control over the media you’ve uploaded.
  • You can view, download, or delete your uploads at any time.
  • Access your uploads through the ‘My Uploads’ under your Account.

Non-logged-in Users

If you upload media without logging in, you will be asked for your email address & name so the host who knows has uploaded media to their event:
  • The event host can see who uploaded which media.
  • To manage your uploads, you have two options:
    1. Ask the host to delete specific media you’ve uploaded.
    2. Create a PixVow account using the email address you provided during upload. Once created, you’ll gain full control over your previous uploads.
Creating a PixVow account not only gives you control over your uploads but also enhances your overall event experience with features like easy RSVPs and personalised event information.

Best Practices for Uploading Media

  1. Respect Privacy: Only upload photos or videos that you have permission to share.
  2. Be Mindful of Content: Ensure your uploads are appropriate for the event and audience.
  3. Use Wi-Fi When Possible: To avoid using excessive mobile data, try to upload when connected to Wi-Fi.
  4. Tag and Caption: If available, use tagging and captioning features to make your uploads more searchable and meaningful.

Troubleshooting Upload Issues

If you’re having trouble uploading media:
  • Ensure you have a stable internet connection.
  • Try refreshing the upload page or restarting the PixVow app.
  • If issues persist, contact the event host or PixVow support for assistance.
Remember, sharing your photos and videos helps create a rich, shared memory of the event. Your contributions are valuable to both the host and other guests!
